1- Face Plate Used to terminate the copper cable at the user side. It may be internal (inside the wall) or external (outside the wall). This faceplate may have single, double, or quadruple inserts.
2- Patch Cord It is a small network cable which is used to make a connection between the patch panel with the switch and between the faceplate with the user PC.
3- Patch Panel Used to terminate the network cable on it before being terminated on the switch. It may be 24 ports or 48 ports (24 ports is the most used).
4- RJ’s Used to terminate the copper pairs of the network cable. (RJ45) is used for the network, (RJ11) is used for the telephone, and (RJ12 ) is used for the telephone handset.
